Caillou (born: July 11, 1993) is a One Canadian boy from the preschool animated series Caillou.

Personality[]

Caillou is shown to be a caring, adventurous, helpful. imaginative kid except for My First Piano Book which he is the pianist of the book. But can tend to be upset when things ruin his fun. Overall, he constantly asks questions about the world around him and is always ready for another adventure.

Caillou's best friends are Leo, Sarah, Clementine, and the twins Jason and Jeffrey. For some reasons, Julie babysits Caillou and his younger sister Rosie.

Appearance[]

Caillou is bald-headed with a round face and nose. He wears a yellow shirt with a red collar, blue shorts and red sneakers. He's mostly 4 years old.

Family[]

Caillou lives with his parents, Boris [father], Doris [mother], Rosie [sister]. He lives close to his grandparents, Rosemary and Hadley

Name[]

The name Caillou originates from the French term "caillou", which defines any small rock you normally see outside ("pebble" or "small rock") because Caillou is bald like a rock. His last name is not revealed in the animated series.

However, the original creator of Caillou, Hélène Desputeaux, explained that she had originally created a baby named "Bertrand" as a precursor to Caillou, so this might maybe be Caillou's middle name.

Real Life[]

Caillou was originally first created in April 1989 by Hélène Desputeaux, who had drawn him for the first time at this time as she was pregnant with her daughter and son. In 1997, the animated series was first aired on Teletoon in Canada, and Caillou was the first program to ever air on this channel. In 2005, Caillou was taken off from Teletoon. In Fall 2000, Caillou made its American debut on PBS Kids.
